Vision Sunday
At the heart of this message lies a compelling challenge to examine our priorities and understand our God-given purpose. Drawing from Habakkuk 2:2, we're reminded that vision must be written clearly so that those who read it may run with it. The mission is beautifully simple yet profoundly challenging: to connect to God, connect to others, and connect others to God. This threefold purpose is built on core values of devotion, intentionality, and multiplication. The message confronts us with an uncomfortable truth—we often sacrifice our time with God, both privately and corporately, before we'll sacrifice anything else in our packed schedules. Whether it's youth sports, work commitments, or recreational activities, we've allowed these good things to become obstacles to the best thing. The Great Commission from Matthew 28:18-20 isn't a suggestion but a command with a singular focus: make disciples. We don't need seminary degrees or special training to fulfill this calling; we simply need to share what we've learned with others. The powerful imagery from 1 Corinthians 12 reminds us that we're designed for community—each of us is like a big toe, perhaps unseen and underappreciated, but absolutely essential for balance and forward movement. This message calls us to stop asking God what our purpose is when He's already made it crystal clear: wherever we are, whatever our vocation, we're called to make disciples right where God has planted us.
