The Cost Of Following Christ

What does it truly cost to follow Jesus? That question sits at the heart of this powerful journey through Mark chapters 8 through 10. We tend to measure success by power, prestige, and achievement, and if we are honest, we have often carried those same expectations into our faith. But Jesus dismantles all of that. Beginning with Peter's great confession and the shocking teaching that followed, we are confronted with a Messiah who did not come to wear a crown but to carry a cross, and who calls us to do the same. The necessity of the cross is not incidental. Romans 3 pulls back the curtain on why it had to happen: God's justice demanded satisfaction, and at Calvary, that justice and His mercy met in one defining moment.
