5-Day Devotional (5/25/2025-5/31/2025)

Day 1: Breaking Down Barriers
Reading: Acts 10:9-16, 34-35

Devotional: Peter's vision challenges us to examine our own prejudices and barriers. Just as God showed Peter not to call anything unclean that He has made clean, we too must be willing to let go of our preconceptions about others. Reflect on any biases or prejudices you may hold. How might these be hindering your ability to share God's love? Ask God to open your eyes to see others as He sees them - worthy of love and salvation. Consider one practical step you can take today to reach out to someone you've previously avoided or judged.

Day 2: The Gospel for All
Reading: Romans 1:16-17, Galatians 3:26-29

Devotional: The message of Christ is for everyone, regardless of background, culture, or past sins. Paul reminds us that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. In a world often divided by differences, how can you be an ambassador of this inclusive message? Meditate on the unity we have in Christ, where there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female. Pray for opportunities to bridge divides and share God's love across cultural or social boundaries.

Day 3: Transformed by the Spirit
Reading: Acts 2:1-4, Titus 3:4-7

Devotional: The outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and in Cornelius' house demonstrates God's desire to fill all believers with His presence. This transformative power is available to us today. Reflect on areas of your life where you need the Spirit's renewal. Are there habits, attitudes, or fears holding you back from fully embracing God's work in your life? Invite the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh, empowering you to live boldly for Christ and to love others as He loves them.

Day 4: Overcoming Fear with Faith
Reading: Matthew 14:22-33, 2 Timothy 1:7

Devotional: Peter's willingness to step out of the boat reminds us that faith often requires stepping out of our comfort zones. What "boats" of safety or familiarity is God calling you to leave? Remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. When we focus on Christ, the barriers that often keep us apart are removed. Pray for courage to take steps of faith, trusting that Jesus is with you even in uncertain waters.

Day 5: Being the Church in a Broken World
Reading: Matthew 5:13-16, James 1:22-27

Devotional: As followers of Christ, we are called to be salt and light in a world of brokenness. This means actively engaging with the world around us, not isolating ourselves from it. How can you be "salt" in your community today? In what ways can your life shine the light of Christ to those in darkness? Consider one tangible act of kindness or service you can do this week to demonstrate God's love to someone in need. Remember, we are not just hearers of the Word, but doers, showing our faith through our actions.
