5-Day Devotional: Help One Another Grow

Day 1: Make Room for the Word

Reading: Colossians 3:16

Devotional: Paul's command is not passive. He does not say let the Word of Christ occasionally visit or make brief appearances in your routine. He says let it dwell, meaning settle in, take up residence, and make its home in you. A guest who is only welcomed to the foyer never truly inhabits the house. The Word of Christ must be allowed into every room of your life, including your fears, your decisions, your relationships, and your habits. Ask yourself honestly: where have you kept the door closed? Open it today and invite the Word to dwell there richly.

Day 2: Gifted to Serve, Called to Share

Reading: Romans 12:4-8

Devotional: Not every believer is called to stand behind a pulpit, but every believer is called to carry the truth of Christ into the lives of those around them. The passage in Romans reminds us that gifts differ, but the body functions together. Your gift, whatever it may be, is not meant to remain with you. It was given to serve others. Think of someone in your life who is younger in the faith or struggling in their walk. You do not need every answer. You need only a willing heart, an open Bible, and the humility to say, let us learn together.

Day 3: Teach and Correct With Wisdom

Reading: Proverbs 27:5-6; Galatians 6:1-2

Devotional: Admonishing one another is among the most difficult callings in the Christian life. It requires courage to speak and humility to receive. Proverbs reminds us that honest correction from a friend is more trustworthy than flattery, and Paul in Galatians calls believers to restore one another gently, always watching their own hearts first. Correction offered without love becomes cruelty. Love offered without truth becomes flattery. Wisdom holds both together. Before you speak into someone's life today, examine your own. Then, if God calls you to speak, do so with mercy, patience, and a heart that genuinely desires the other person's good.

Day 4: Sing the Truth Together

Reading: Psalm 95:1-7; Ephesians 5:19-20

Devotional: Singing in the gathered church is not merely an emotional expression. It is a communal confession of what we believe to be true about God. When you lift your voice alongside other believers, you are proclaiming truth to them and they are proclaiming it back to you. On days when your faith feels thin and your heart feels heavy, the voices of the congregation become a gift. They sing what you are struggling to hold on to. The words of the songs we sing matter deeply because we are teaching one another through them. Let your voice join theirs today without hesitation or embarrassment.

Day 5: One Person, One Step

Reading: 2 Timothy 2:1-2; Colossians 1:28-29

Devotional: Paul's ministry was never meant to end with Paul. He poured truth into Timothy so that Timothy would pour it into others, and so the chain of faithful witness would continue. This is the design of discipleship. It is not a program. It is a way of life. Today, consider one person God has placed near you. It may be a child, a neighbor, a coworker, or a friend who is drifting. You do not need a title or a platform. You need obedience and availability. Reach out to that one person this week. Open the Word together. Let the chain continue through you.
