5-Day Devotional (4/13/2025-4/19/2025)

Day 1: Living in Grace and Power
Reading: Acts 6:8-15

Devotional: Stephen's life was marked by grace and power - the same qualities that characterized Jesus' ministry. As believers, we're called to live with this same divine empowerment. Reflect on how God's grace is evident in your life. Where do you see His power at work? Consider areas where you might be relying on your own strength rather than God's power. Pray for a renewed awareness of God's grace and a willingness to step out in faith, allowing His power to work through you in bold and unexpected ways.

Day 2: Speaking Truth Boldly
Reading: Acts 7:1-53

Devotional: Stephen's defense before the Sanhedrin demonstrates incredible courage and biblical knowledge. He spoke truth boldly, even in the face of certain death. In our own lives, we often shy away from speaking God's truth for fear of rejection or conflict. Ask yourself: Where might God be calling you to speak His truth more boldly? Remember, our confidence comes not from our own abilities, but from the Holy Spirit within us. Pray for discernment and courage to share God's truth lovingly yet uncompromisingly in your spheres of influence.

Day 3: Dying with Confidence
Reading: Acts 7:54-60

Devotional: Stephen's martyrdom reveals a man fully confident in his faith, even to the point of death. His vision of Jesus standing at God's right hand affirmed everything he believed and lived for. While we may not face literal martyrdom, we're called to "die to self" daily. How can you cultivate a faith so strong that you face each day's challenges with unwavering confidence in Christ? Meditate on the reality of Jesus' presence with you in every circumstance. Let this truth embolden you to live sacrificially for Him.

Day 4: Forgiveness in the Face of Persecution
Reading: Luke 23:32-43

Devotional: Like Jesus on the cross, Stephen's last words were a plea for his persecutors' forgiveness. This radical love is a hallmark of Christ's followers. Reflect on relationships or situations where you're struggling to forgive. How might viewing those who've hurt you through God's eyes of compassion change your perspective? Ask God to soften your heart and empower you to extend forgiveness, even when it seems impossible. Remember, forgiveness is as much for your own spiritual freedom as it is for others.

Day 5: The Presence of God in Suffering
Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18

Devotional: Stephen's ability to endure suffering came from his awareness of God's presence. Paul echoes this truth, reminding us that our trials are temporary in light of eternity. What difficulties are you facing right now? How might consciously inviting God's presence into those situations change your perspective? Take time to be still and sense God's nearness. Let His presence be your comfort and strength, transforming your view of your circumstances. Ask God to use your trials to refine your faith and reveal His glory to others.
